Major milestone: SCP opens new in-hospital branch

SCP Radiology Malmesbury is now co-located with Crestcare Malmesbury, a newly developed private hospital where SCP offers comprehensive medical imaging for admitted patients as well as referred outpatients.

Specialised services include magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), diagnostic ultrasound, mammography, and fluoroscopy. 

These will significantly add to the general X-rays SCP had previously offered at its local branch. The team from the existing local branch is also relocating from Malmesbury’s CBD to join the branch on the Crestcare premises.

Heading SCP Radiology Malmesbury as Branch Manager is Dr Jaco du Plessis, a seasoned radiologist and partner in the practice. “We are honoured to bring our services closer to the Swartland community,” he says. 

“SCP is a well-established radiology practice with several branches at major hospitals. As such, we have been serving patients from the Swartland for many years and we are fully committed to continue providing the same imaging technology and standard of services at our new address.”

SCP Radiology is a practice with over 30 radiologists – fully qualified medical doctors with an additional specialist qualification in medical imaging. Many of SCP’s radiologists have also completed fellowships at leading international teaching facilities.

Together with a team of highly experienced radiographers and support staff, they ensure that referring GPs and specialists have access to the technology and expertise they often rely on to make accurate diagnoses.

“We are excited about a location that will make it easier for residents to access our services once their doctor has referred them,” says Dr du Plessis. “That’s because the health and well-being of patients will always be our top priority. We look forward to serving the local community – locally – for many years to come.”
